Jon and Suzie Watson have invited us back to their home on Padre Island this month. Our hosts will provide ALL of the food, as well as soft drinks and water. Members may bring wine or beer if they wish, but you do not need to bring food of any kind.
Jon and Suzie have more than 100 species of palms, as well as an ingenious irrigation and fertilization system.
IMPORTANT: Since the Watsons will provide all food, they need an accurate count of those who will attend. We respectfully ask that you RSVP to Ed Ladd or John Dillard no later than Tuesday, May 13.
THE MAIN EVENT: Current chairman John Volk will pass the gavel over to our new chairman Jon Watson. Don’t miss the celebration!
Note: We will NOT have an auction this month.
DIRECTIONS: From the south, take Highway 77 north to Corpus Christi and exit right onto IH-37 toward downtown. From the north, take IH-37 into Corpus Christi. Once in Corpus Christi, follow IH-37 to the State Highway 358 (Padre Island Drive) exit. Turn right and follow Padre Island Drive (Highway 358) all the way east across town. You will pass through Flour Bluff and cross the JFK Causeway onto Padre Island. Once on the Island, go to the second traffic signal and turn right on Whitecap Boulevard. Follow Whitecap to Tesoro Drive. Turn right on Tesoro and follow it until you reach Cobo de Bara Circle and turn right. Continue on Cobo de Bara Circle to the Watsons’ house at 14838 Cobo de Bara Circle. If you get lost or need help, call Jon and Suzie at 361-949-8458.
